Visa Information

Citizens of most countries can enter Singapore with a Short-term Visit Pass that is issued at the immigration checkpoint upon arrival. However, nationals of several countries are required to apply for and get an Entry Visa before traveling to Singapore. Please refer to the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority website to confirm whether a visa application is necessary in your case!

Getting to Singapore

For most international origins, the main point of access to Singapore is the Changi International Airport. There are direct connections to Singapore from many large international airports in Asia, Europe and America.

Conference Venue

The conference will take place at the Rendezvous Grand Hotel Singapore, which is located in the heart of the city and is very accessible via public transport. The hotel is 5 minutes by foot from Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station and bus stops located just outside the hotel provide convenient access to and from the rest of Singapore.

Several transportation options are available for reaching the city centre from the airport:

Taxi Metered taxis are available from Changi International Airport which charge approximately S$20 for up to four passengers, including a S$3-S$5 airport surcharge. The journey should take under 25 minutes. Peak period surcharge (18.00 to 24.00) is 25% of the metered fare, and late-night surcharge (0.00 to 5.59) is 50% of the metered fare.

Bus or Rail Should the bus or suburban rail network (Mass Rapid Transit, or MRT for short) be preferred, a journey of just under an hour is still possible and should cost approximately S$2. A ticket may be purchased directly at the MRT station within the airport. Bus fare may be paid in cash (Singapore dollars only) to the driver. Please consult for more details.

Rendezvous Grand Hotel has generously offered accommodation for conference guests at a discounted rates. Reservation forms will be made available shortly in this website. Alternatively, the city centre also offers a wide variety of hotels for accommodation. More information will be provided soon.

Useful Information

Singapore's weather is much less variable than in temperate countries due to its position just north of the Equator. All year round, daytime temperatures range between 28 and 33 degrees Centigrade, and by night temperatures may decrease to about 23 degrees. Rainfall is to be expected, especially in the month of December, and humidity varies between 80 and 90 per cent. However, this is often mitigated by the liberal use of indoor air-conditioning which can keep room temperature at or below 25 degrees Centigrade.
